Self Made
Self Made is a film installation directed by Rafik Opti that highlights the resilience and agency of Black and Brown trans individuals. Through intimate vignettes, the work challenges colonial narratives, urging viewers to confront the erasure of trans histories and contributions. The installation explores themes of self-creation, ancestral rituals, and the connection between land and identity, celebrating moments of love and spiritual connection. The installation has been exhibited at Kunstlinie Almere, and is currently screened as a directors cut at MaMa Rotterdam from November 1st till January 5th 2025.
