WE — Silent Waters

“We” is part of a series of videos directed by Opti for the exhibition Silent Waters at Kunstlinie Almere. This immersive experience includes contributions from Opti’s earlier work, Self Made.

The exhibition Silent Waters tells the story of shared history of slavery and its lasting impact on contemporary society, with a special focus on the connections to Flevoland and its surrounding waters.

Through an immersive experience, visitors are invited to take a deep dive into history. WE envelops the audience with intimate conversations—sometimes with people who understand and value them, and other times with those who challenge them to see new perspectives. This dialogue encourages growth and development. Step into the lives of eight individuals and allow yourself to be carried away by their personal experiences.
